Jon, yes, you can definitely do this on behalf of your clients. However, be sure that you know enough about your client's expertise to be able to respond with his or her tips and advice and include contact information and links to more, in case the journalist wants it. But, just responding that your client has what the journalist needs and putting the onus on the journalist to contact the client won't work. They are too busy and want the information delivered directly.

You're so right, Lori. News is a broad audience, not narrow, so your topic or story has to appeal to many.

Yes, Martin. You can embed Slideshare presentations on your LinkedIn profile. It's a great way to give visitors an overview of what you do, or to highlight recent speaking engagements. I'll have to check out the Haiku Deck app.

You're right, Laura. And Lewis' story shows that you use everything you've learned in your next thing...for him, it's the intense discipline and hustle from sports that's making him such a success in business.

Definitely, Kelly. If you can give a local reporter a great soundbite or two, that's what they'll use as a call out in the article (those bits of text that are much larger than the rest of the article, designed to intrigue a skimmer into reading the article.)

Thanks, Nancy. I think people see celebrities and politicians on television delivering perfectly crafted soundbites and think that those just roll of the interviewee's tongue - but they're actually planned and rehearsed.
